Russell Cave Elementary Clubs - 2012-2013
We are dedicated to providing extracurricular activities for our students. Permission from the parent/guardian is required for all activities. Transportation for clubs is the responsibility of the parent. Below are the different opportunities for our students to get involved.
Academic Team - Sponsors: Ms. Agustin & Ms. Cunningham
The primary focus of this team is to have FUN; however, we strongly promote academic excellence and achievement in competition with our fellow schools. RCE academic team participants benefit by studying a range of subjects, increase memorization skill, learn to work in teams and expand their level of responsibility. Students develop BRAIN POWER for quick recall and future problem solving. Students in grades 2-5 are eligible to participate. Practices are weekly and last one hour.
Art Club - Sponsor: Mrs. Reckart
Create with all of your favorite materials during Art Club. If you are interested in learning more about art and want to explore your artisit talents join us this year in the art room. Come and let your imaginative side shile!
Debate Team - Sponsor: Ms. Bennington
Do you like to argue? Would you like to be able to share your opinions in a way that others will want to hear? When you join the Debate Team, students will learn the fundamentals of debate, research, and persuasive speech while gaining critical thinking and public speaking skills. 4th and 5th grade students who want to practice speaking, learn competitive debate structures, cross examation questioning, analyzing evidence, and just having FUN in a team environment are strongly encouraged to join our Debate Team!
Garden Club - Sponsor: Ms. Jones
The garden club will spend time planning new projects for the garden and maintaining existing projects. Students in this club will also be responsible for maintaining our school garden blog. We will meet more often during the warmer months and less often during the colder months.
Girls on the Run - Sponsor: Mrs. Smith
This club believes that every girl can embrace who she is, can define who she wants to be, can rise to any challenge, can change the world. The mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experienced based curriculum which integrates running. The girls will make new friends, build their confidence, and celebrate their uniqueness.
Science Club - Sponsor: Ms. Jones
