Bottle Cap Collection

Our Green Team and PTA will be working together to get new benches, made of recycled plastic, for our playground and garden. You can help by sending in clean, plastic caps and lids like water bottle caps, peanut butter jar lids, cottage cheese container lids, and deodorant caps. Please do not send in metal caps, lotion pumps, soap pumps, or trigger sprayers. Our goal is to install the benches by early fall. Thank you for your contribution!

waterposter

The Green Team has been working hard to make water conservation posters that will be displayed throughout the building on Earth Day in April. Leticia's poster was chosen as the team's favorite. Her poster will be professionally printed and displayed in schools around the district.

Green Apple Day of Service

On Saturday, September 27, Russell Cave staff, Green Team members and families, and community members worked in the garden on several projects, including rain barrel and plant installations in our pollinator garden. The Green Apple Day of Service is organized through the US Green Building Council. Scott Southall, a landscape architect from CDP Engineers, was our consultant and co-organizer. Materials were donated by Leachman Landscape Design, Gault Lawncare, CDP Engineers, Wild Birds Unlimited, and USGBC. Water and healthy snacks were donated by Whole Foods of Lexington.
